i found a sweet deal on some aluminum 15x10 wheels with 43mm offset (EEH...roughly only 1 3/4 inches). i'm wanting to know how i can clear 31x10.50's on these wheels on a stock 95 yj. i'll eventually be getting a lift, but i just want to know what needs to be done to run them on the street temporarily. i'm hoping to add a bds 3.5 lift and 33's. i figure that will clear the wheel/tire combo just fine...any ideas??????thanks

A 10" wide rim is probably going to be to wide for even 33x12.5's. Especially when aired down. I wouldn't run them on your 31x10.5's at all. You'll be loosing beads left and right.

Most guys running 10.5 or 11.5 rubber use 7" rims. 33's usually use 8" rims.

I wouldn't consider using them unless you plan on having them made into beadlocks.

I ran 31x10.50 MT Baja's on 15x10's for a while, didn't have a problem, I then had 32x11.50 BFG MT's on the same rims and I only burped the bead once and I was way off camber and was running 6 psi. You should be OK with those tires on rims.

i'm not concerned too much about the tire popping off the rim. i've ran 31x10.50 on 15x10's before. mainly i'm concerned with how much the tires will rub on a stock susp. with that backspacing......anyone else have any suggetions?????

oh!

If they rub, do something simple like a shackle lift or something to tie you over, is that more better? http://forums.jeepsunlimited.com/ubb/smile.gif

cool. i was thinking a shackle lift and 1" body lift. i'm going to end up putting a 1" body lift on anyway......i'm still not sure though....43mm backspacing isn't much at all.....

The 15x10in wheels are fine on 12.5 in wide tires, unless you plan on going under somthing like 13psi. I run 33x12.5 in 15.10's aired down all the time with no problems. They should fit ok but you will put them in to the fenders when you 4wheel.

I've asked the question with a couple of tyre shops and they say you should not run any thing less than a 12.5" wide tyre on a 10" wide rim. They have told me you should not run wider than 8" wide rim with a 10.5" tyre. If you do fit 8" rims you can still fit 12.5" tyres on them. The only difference is that if you run 12.5" tyres on 8" rims is that the tyres won't look as fat.
